Jessica Broadbent is a dedicated vocalist with a passion for delivering unforgettable musical experiences. With a background in various musical genres and an innate ability to engage audiences, she brings energy and charm to every performance.
Originally from Teesside, Jessica found her passion for performing (especially singing) at The Forum Theatre School, Billingham. She learnt all elements of performing (Acting, singing, dancing and most importantly- discipline.)
Led by the wonderful Sue Brackenbury and Steve McNichol, Jessica gained a wealth of knowledge under their guidance and would like to express her sincere gratitude for their ongoing love and support.
During her 7 year training at the Theatre School, Jessica took part in two national tours of Annie, one national tour of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and 5 pantomimes with Duggie Chapman. She also appeared in ITV's Steel River Blues which she successfully auditioned for through the Theatre School.
She trained in classical singing with the incredibly talented Miranda Francis, who helped her gain all eight grades with ABRSM and Trinity College London including a Merit for her Grade 8 Classical Singing.
At the age of 16, Jessica enrolled at Stockton Riverside College to pursue a BTEC Level 3 in Performing Arts. Under the expert guidance of Sara Durkin, Kristin Spitty, Andrew McIntyre, Andrew Johnson, and Daniel Todd, the course further deepened her passion for and understanding of Musical Theatre. Following two years of dedicated training, Jessica achieved a Double Distinction*—the highest possible grade awarded for the qualification.
In preparation for her Stage School auditions, Jessica began training at Nadine's Academy, where she honed her skills in ballet, jazz, tap, street, modern, and lyrical dance.
In 2013, Jessica was accepted into the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Under the guidance of her exceptional instructors, she continued to develop both her skills and her artistic growth.
After a year of training at Italia Conti, Jessica graduated with special recognition for the most improved in dance. She then continued her studies at the London School of Musical Theatre, where she earned a vocational diploma in Musical Theatre.
During her training at both schools, Jessica had the privilege of learning from exceptional instructors who taught her a wide range of disciplines, including various dance styles, singing, music theory, acting (including Shakespeare and Acting for TV), voice techniques, audition preparation, and the fundamentals of managing a self-employed business.
In 2015, Jessica started her professional career in performing.
After 13 years of dedicated training, Jessica secured her first professional contract in 2015, working for Merlin Entertainments at Chessington World of Adventures as "Ginny" in their Halloween maze, Curse of The Lost Tomb.
She then made her pantomime debut as a Principal Girl, playing "Princess Rose" in Sleeping Beauty for Once Upon a Time Theatre Company.
In 2016, she appeared in Turkey Tales at National Forest Adventure Farm, before taking her first six-month contract with Parkdean Resorts. There, she worked as a show member and trouper for Looe Bay in Cornwall. Alongside performing in five shows, Jessica also had the opportunity to perform her first solo cabaret show, marking the beginning of her solo career. After this, she returned to Wales for her second pantomime with Once Upon a Time Theatre Company, portraying "Red" in Little Red Riding Hood. She returned once more in 2018 to play "Gretel" in Hansel & Gretel.
In 2017 and 2018, Jessica worked with Live Business and TUI as a children’s entertainer and show cast member, appearing in shows such as Happily Ever After and Best of Broadway. This job gave Jessica the incredible opportunity to travel to destinations including Minorca, Ibiza, and Lapland.
In 2019, she appeared in Paddington at the Seaside as "Mrs. Seagal" and Sleeping Beauty as "Fairy Stardust" at Butlin’s Skegness. She was also an understudy vocalist for the cast shows Abba! Here We Go Again, The Big White Piano Show (The Music of Elton John), and Swing into Christmas.
Jessica returned to Butlin’s Skegness in 2020 as a cast vocalist, performing in Salute (The Music of Little Mix), Abba! Here We Go Again, The Little Mermaid, and Paddington at the Seaside. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic brought an unexpected halt to her work at Butlin’s in October 2020. With the industry facing unprecedented challenges, she embraced a variety of roles, including working at Tesco, in a care home, and as an administrator at Parkdean Resorts.
In 2021, Jessica joined Ultimate Artistes, marking her entry into the gig world with Rewind 80’s & 90’s. She has continued to thrive in the gig scene and is still actively performing. In December 2021, Jessica appeared as "Fairy Finesprout" in Five Star Theatre’s Jack and The Beanstalk at the Century Theatre, Coalville.
Since 2023, Jessica has been involved in several exceptional productions, including Motownellas with Xenna Presents, Soul Train with Wayne Kennedy, QSR and Remix with Ultimate Artistes. She has also joined Simply Abba and Abba Stars, performing as "Frida" at multiple venues.
Jessica began working for Thornton Hall Country Park in 2022, joining their entertainment team and performing in numerous shows. She also had the unique opportunity to launch her solo act, Jessica Emily, performing at their Wedding Open Day in January 2023.
She is also proud to be a part of two Princess Party companies- Enchanted Events and A Princess to Your Door. She performs at parties and other special events as some recognisable characters!
In December 2024, Jessica gained the role of Queen Horibella in Tom Rolfe's Productions Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at The Princess Theatre in Hunstanton, where she will also return in December 2025 to play the evil Jafarazad in Aladdin.
Jessica launched her solo project, Jessie B, which has been met with great success. She continues to perform her show at a variety of venues and is expanding her Jessica Emily brand, focusing on weddings and restaurant performances.
She continues to perform with some incredible companies while also growing her business as a solo artist.
Now based in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire, she has established a base for her business and looks forward to continuing her successful career in performance.
Jessica would like to dedicate her success to her incredible mother, Barbara, who sadly passed away in 2022. Barbara was her number one fan and would undoubtedly be immensely proud of the accomplishments Jessica has achieved.
